Blessings!

This past weekend was one of the most busy, fun, craziest, but most productive weekends we have had in the past 3 months. It started on Friday when I got a call from the people who were supposed to clean our carpets. They informed me that they would not be moving practically any furniture in order to clean the carpets and that if we wanted the furniture moved we would have to do it prior to them coming. So, Josh and I emptied the entire house (at least where the carpets are) so that they could clean the carpets. It was practically like moving out of a house again and I'd have to say that I've done enough of that recently and don't want to do anymore. We really needed to have all of the carpets cleaned though because they really were a mess...

After we got this done, Josh and I had planned to go on a date night. It had been awhile since we just did something fun together. So, we headed to Springdale/Fayetteville and went out to eat at a restaurant called Noodles. It was obviously Italian food but I'd have to say we were not overly impressed. I did feel bad for our waitress though who seemed to be having a tough night. She was wearing a white dress shirt that was splattered with red dots... After dinner we went to a place called Locomotion which is a miniature golf place, arcade and go cart place. It was really fun. They had a really good mini golf course and it's always fun to do that with Josh. We also got a chance to play air hockey and I'd have to say that was fun too. I beat Josh on the first game we played but that was because he would accidentally get the air puck in his goal instead of mine... :-)

Saturday we got up early to get ready for the carpet cleaning guy and we were really impressed with how much better the carpets looked after this cleaning. There are still some stains on the carpet but they are much better than they used to be. Saturday afternoon we attempted to move a few items back into the house. Saturday night we went to church and then had community group. It has been really nice just to get to know people and get some connections. I really enjoy everyone in that group. After the lesson on Saturday we had a time of just socializing with them and I really enjoyed that. I feel like I have been missing that and it was just a blessing to have that experience.

Sunday we had a goal of getting the rest of the living room painted (we had one wall done from when we painted the kitchen). That was quiet the chore. The ceiling is 12 feet high which was a challenge. I'd have to say I'm not a fan of doing the edging work when the ceilings are that high. We ran out of paint at one point so I had to stop and drive the 25 miles to Fayetteville to get more paint. The good news is that it is finished and I am really glad about this. I like it a lot and think it makes the room look very different, more homey. Here are a few pictures before and after:

Here are the after shots:

Here is one picture with a little bit of furniture back in the room. I still have to put all the pictures back on the wall:

I am a blessed woman and so thankful to God for all the amazing things He has worked out in my life. I have an amazing husband who loves me and I love. There were many years that I really didn't think I would ever get married and I just feel so blessed that God put such an amazing, wonderful, perfect for me man in my life. I feel blessed that God knows what I need and provides it like being able to socialize with our community group and making some connections with others. I feel blessed that I have a house I can decorate any way I want to. This is something I have looked forward to doing for years. I just feel so blessed and thankful to God for what he has given to me. May I never take it for granted.
